As a mold parts manufacturer that has a lot of contacts with the mold industry, it often needs to make great efforts in the material selection and processing methods of mold parts if it wants to manufacture high-precision and efficient parts for the mold. The rotary thimble manufacturer believes that only by selecting the right material and using the right processing method, can it produce high-quality mold parts. Here, take the die thimble as an example to introduce the common material selection and processing methods:
1. Common material selection of die thimble
The die thimble is made of high-speed steel and needs heat treatment. At present, there are many brands, including SKD61 and SKH51. Its hardness is 50-55 degrees. Surface hardening and nitriding treatment. In addition, there is a thimble made of ordinary high-speed steel, which is used in places with low requirements.
The ejector pins of plastic mold are made of SKH51, SKD61, SKD11, 65Mn, etc. the toughness of SKH51 ejector pin is better than SKD61; SKD61 thimble can withstand 1600 ℃ high temperature. The wear resistance of SKD61 thimble can be improved after nitriding treatment. 65Mn thimble is easy to break because of its poor quality and brittle quality. Most plastic molds are not equipped with and use 65Mn thimbles.
2. Processing method of die thimble
① Inspection of materials required for die thimble (confirm whether the materials are genuine);
② Cutting (remember to reserve the head);
③ For heading, the steel is applied with an automatic heading machine to heat the steel for 3-10cm at high temperature, and the head is directly punched out with a heading machine;
④ Then straighten the steel to determine the straightness of the steel;
⑤ The lathe shall be used for roughing, and 0.02-0.03 shall be reserved at last;
⑥ Then the centerless grinding on the thimble is processed to be smooth, The head is machined on the lathe, and the outer circle of the head is controlled by centerless grinding;
⑦ Then put it into the nitriding furnace for nitriding treatment;
⑧ Finish machining the nitrided thimble to make the tolerance meet the factory requirements;
⑨ Inspection, packaging and shipment.
